Prepared to Perform Dance Nutrition & Performance Resilience
A dance-specific nutrition education programme that uses body image and eating disorder-informed approaches to help dancers develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed for a healthy, sustainable career.
Prepared to Perform is a structured nutrition education programme developed specifically for dancers. Combining evidence-based nutrition, performance nutrition, REDs awareness, body image education, and practical life skills. The programme helps dancers build knowledge and confidence in a supportive, non-judgemental environment.
Why Prepared to Perform?
Many dancers receive little formal nutrition education despite nutrition playing a critical role in performance, recovery, health, injury risk and wellbeing.
At the same time, dancers are often exposed to conflicting advice, diet culture messaging and misinformation online.
Prepared to Perform was developed to provide accessible, evidence-based education that empowers dancers to make informed decisions about their health and performance.
Why a Programme Rather Than a Workshop?
Whilst individual workshops can introduce important concepts, meaningful learning and behaviour change often require repeated exposure, reflection and practice.
Delivered across multiple sessions, Prepared to Perform allows dancers to build knowledge progressively, revisit key concepts, ask questions as their understanding develops, and gain practical skills that can be applied throughout training and performance.
