Workshops & Education

Dance Nutrition Workshops

Nutrition plays a vital role in dancer health, wellbeing, performance and longevity. From supporting training, recovery and performance to building confidence around food and awareness of the risks of underfuelling, high-quality nutrition education can have a lasting impact throughout a dancer’s career.

As a former professional dancer, registered dietitian, sports nutritionist, and clinician with experience working in eating disorder services, I understand both the demands of dance training and the importance of delivering nutrition education in a safe, supportive, and evidence-based way.

In dance environments, where body image concerns and misinformation about nutrition can be common, it is important that education is delivered by appropriately qualified professionals. My workshops address that there is not one perfect way to eat and that everyone is different. I focus on helping dancers understand the evidence-based information so they can make informed choices around food and nutrition.

What to Expect

Every workshop is adapted to meet the needs of the group. I believe the most effective education happens when participants feel comfortable, engaged, and able to ask questions without judgement.

Workshops are:

  • Evidence-based and expert-led
  • Interactive and engaging
  • Adapted to the needs of your dancers, teachers, or parents
  • Led by an eating disorder informed clinician
  • Free from ‘good’ vs ‘bad’ and ‘healthy’ vs ‘unhealthy’ food messaging
  • Focused on practical, actionable strategies

Importantly, participants are never expected to share what they eat or disclose personal information. My role is to provide information, guidance, and practical tools that participants can take away and apply in a way that works for them. See what others have taken away from their experience.
